WHAT IS STOCK CAR RACING ON ICE?
Just like the title says. These are everyday cars and small trucks that you would see on the road. Everything from 90’s Dodge Neon’s, Ford Crown Vic’s, Chevy S10’s, to older models like Gremlin’s to Pinto’s and even an old 57 Chevy. Most of these cars are still street legal. The only difference is that the non drive tires are studded. Every week these cars show up to try their luck on bringing home the checkered flag. Ice racing is a cheap and affordable opportunity for people to get into the auto racing world. Winters in the northland are long, what better way to pass the winter blues, then to do what most of us do every day during the winter, drive on snow and ice, but with this NO SPEED LIMITS.

Lake Superior Ice Racing Association is committed to creating a fans racing experience like you have never seen before. Fans can come down and watch cars slide their way around this 3/8 mile action packed speedway. With studded non drive tires, these cars are setup to grip the ice, but keep the field on an even playing field. With drivers pushing their cars to the limits, the slightest mistake could mean the difference from first to last.

Not to worry, parking spots are available first come first serve right up next to the track. Sit in your car and listen to all the action on your car radio. Enter the pits and meet the drivers after the races, or head down to the after party that is put on by the nights sponsor and hear all the race day stories. The best part of the whole deal IT’S COMPLETELY FREE to spectators.
